Autumn 2017 to Autumn 2018 Michael Johnson and Hilary Cartmel were commissioned to work with the new community of Papplewick Green, an estate of 800 new houses, a primary school and CoOp store. The artists worked with the community to decide on the artworks to be created, their content and much of their imagery and poetry. They communicated through a facebook page and ran events where the community could participate, feed back ideas and information and through to the local press for publication. Exhibitions of work were held in the local sports pavilion and the CoOp. Nine artworks were installed at the end of October 2018 and unveiled a few days later, these were made in stainless and corten steel with large pebbles filling the Seating Settles.
